Bon Accord | Waste Management
Servicing Bon Accord's waste management needs.
Bon Accord has a contract with Standstone Waste Services Ltd for waste management. Every home owner is provided with two totes, one for household waste (black lid) and one for organic material (green lid). In addition, Bon Accord participates in a "Blue Bag" recycling program.
- Waste is collected every Thursday
- Organic waste is collected every Thursday; May through October only
- Blue Bags are collected Thursdays on a biweekly basis. (see below for schedule)
Totes and recycle material are picked-up from the street in front of your house. Please ensure that your tote(s) are on the front street by 7:00 a.m.
NOTES:
1.
Do not attach or chain the tote to anything, as the garbage truck lifts the tote 8 feet in
the air to dump it......anything attached to this cart will also go up 8 feet!

Blue Bag Program - Do's and Don'ts
Please DO NOT set recycle materials close to the roll-out carts – they must be at least 4 feet from the nearest cart. If possible, behind the cart works best. Acceptable materials for recycling and placement are as follows:
- Flattened cardboard – to be set UNDER the blue bag – if you have a lot of cardboard, bundle and place BESIDE blue bag
- Flattened Boxboard – to be placed IN blue bag
- Newsprint and Heavy Paper – to be placed in grocery bag and set BESIDE blue bag
- Magazines & Glossy Flyers – to be placed IN blue bag
- Tins – labels removed and rinsed and placed IN blue bag
- Plastic Milk Jugs and waxed cardboard milk containers – lids removed and rinsed and placed IN blue bag
- Recyclable plastic containers – to be placed IN blue bag NO PLASTIC OIL JUGS, TOYS, GROCERY BAGS, VINYL SIDING, etc.
- Clear Glass Jars – lids removed and rinsed and placed IN blue bags

Roseridge Landfill
Bon Accord is a member of the Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission. Roseridge landfill is located west of Highway 28 on Highway 642, ½ mile south on Range Road 251. For hours of operation, please refer to Roseridge Waste Management website at http://www.roseridge.ab.ca/.
A 'Landfill permit' is required to use the regional landfill. Permits are issued by the Town and are available at the Town Office free of charge. Landfill rates are set in the Waste Bylaw.
