Economic Development
Our mission is to build the bridges and cooperative community effort that leads to the growth and success of the Town of Bon Accord with a responsibility to the future.
Short Term Goals
- To increase communication between existing neighbors. i.e. Towns, County, Community
- To foster community involvement.
- To build a more diverse Economic Development Committee.

- To promote awareness of what our Community has to offer.
- To support businesses in our Community.
- To attract non-local traffic to our businesses.
- To accelerate community growth.
- To increase awareness of opportunities to the businesses in our Community.
- To support charitable endeavors and quality of life.
Economic development in Bon Accord is a shared vision of community leaders, stakeholders and local citizens.
The Town Of Bon Accord recognizes the importance of facilitating and supporting a well thought out and focused economic development effort as a critical prerequisite to future prosperity. Within this context, the community has completed a comprehensive economic development strategy (Building For a Prosperous Tomorrow). Completed in May of 2011 this five year economic development plan sets out a path where economic benefits and a high quality of life are maximized for the Town of Bon Accord.
Economic development efforts in Bon Accord build on firm development principles, focus attention to the needs of local businesses, and stress action while being conscious of the judicious use of local resources.
A Message from the Mayor of Bon Accord
I believe that the Town of Bon Accord is one of Alberta's and
Canada's best communities to call home. We have a friendly
but proactive Council. We are open to business proposals and
new ventures. Council is actively pursuing growth to enhance
our local economy and to provide opportunities for our
residents.
We have committed to the development and implementation of an Economic Development Strategy, "Building for a Prosperous Tomorrow!" This is not a strategy for growth for its own sake. Instead, this strategy reviews the growth opportunities facing us and the reasons for them. For us the challenge lies in being prepared to meet these opportunities in a sustainable manner. This preparation means ensuring policies and actions are in place that allows our economy to develop in ways that serve our citizens and business communities today and into the future. It is the role of our economic development strategy to outline how to move forward so success in one area can support progress in others.
